AAK School Project
For the past eight years, the Islamic Education Foundation of Knoxville (IEFK) has been operating a full-time Islamic School, Annoor Academy of Knoxville (AAK). The school currently has more 100 students enrolled in pre-K through grade 6. For the past several years IEFK has been diligently working to build a permanent facility for Annoor Academy. Finally, in January 2008, the school moved to the new facility.  The construction of this $3.4 million facility has progressed significantly, and now with your help we can complete the project and pay the expenses incured during construction of this phase. IEFK is a registered non-profit organization in the state of Tennessee. Established in December 1998 to serve the Muslim community of Knoxville and the surrounding areas, IEFK is managed by a Board of Directors selected by the community.

Currently, IEFK operates a full-time Islamic school, Annoor Academy. Since its humble beginnings with only 5 students in 1998, today Annoor Academy has grown to over 100 students with classes from pre-KG to 6th grade. Located a on a small piece of land across our main Masjid near downtown, the school is housed in six modular units with classrooms, a computer lab, and an office.

Over the past seven years IEFK was able to raise about $1.4 million in donations mostly from our generous community members. So far, we have spent over $1.3 million to purchase a 7-acre land in west Knoxville, clearing and grading the land, design of the school facility, and in construction of the facility (approximately 40 percent completed). The final cost estimate for the project is about 3.4 million dollars.

Annoor Academy has always kept the understanding of Islam and Academics as a priority. The school is staffed by a full time principal, seven fulltime homeroom teachers, three Arabic and Islamic studies teachers, and other supporting personnel. Our students continue to perform well above average in national standardized tests. Furthermore, our students have excelled in Qur’an memorization and in Arabic beyond our expectations. It is this dedication to Islam and academics that your contribution will help to sustain and grow.

We invite you to join us in this noble endeavor by making a generous contribution to this project. Please fill out the donation form, detach, and mail it with your donation. Your donation is tax deductible (Tax ID# 62-1779019). Please make your check payable to IEFK.
